Team Shield AI Wins U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Unmanned Aircraft System (MUAS) Contract
VLinc is excited to be part of Shield AI’s winning Maritime Unmanned Aircraft System (MUAS) Services team. On June 26th the U.S. Coast Guard awarded Shield AI a $198M+ indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity firm fixed-price contract to provide Contractor Owned Contractor Operated (COCO) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) services. This service will be implemented using Shield AI’s V-BAT UAS.
VLinc performers will serve as a vital interface and collaborator with Shield AI and the Coast Guard. Leveraging our extensive network of relationships within the Coast Guard enterprise, spanning operations, engineering, safety, training, and other domains, we will support Shield AI and the Coast Guard by ensuring that all V-BAT logistics elements have been considered and addressed to guarantee seamless, high-quality ISR services.
The V-BAT series aircraft is the only operationally deployed single-engine ducted fan vertical takeoff and land (VTOL) UAS that can launch and recover from a hover and fly on wing in horizontal flight. With more than five years of persistent operational experience at sea, U.S. and international customers view the V-BAT as a flexible platform capable of performing Group 2 to Group 5 UAS missions and beyond.
